10/2008: Cerona Networks Introduces XpressVu™ DVB-S2 Dual Tuner PCI Express Card
PCIe DVB-S2 Card Brings New Flexibility to High Speed Digital Content Delivery
New York, NY –SATCON, October 14, 2008 Booth 409 - Cerona Networks introduces the market’s only DVB-S2 dual tuner satellite receiver in a single PCIe card. The XpressVu™ can be integrated into existing servers to upgrade networks to DVB-S2, eliminating the need for a separate DVB-S2 set top box. This flexibility allows content delivery companies the option of migrating its existing platforms to DVB-S2 and reducing the rack space needed for deployment in one step.
“We heard from a number of our customers that the critical need for a successful transition to DVB-S2 was not just to gain the core capability inherent in the S2 standard but also to have it in a form factor that makes it simple, cost effective and provides a seamless transition in their existing networks”, said Mitch Robinson, President and CEO of Cerona Networks, “The XpressVu™ card hits the mark.”
The dual tuner capability brings users the option of full redundancy for reliable and immediate backup or a second independent link whether off the same satellite or a separate satellite. PCI-Express is a radically new implementation of the PCI computer bus that uses existing PCI programming concepts and communication standards, but is based on a much faster serial communications system. The result is superior performance with twice the capability and reliability.
XpressVu™ is available with both Windows® and Linux drivers. Units are shipping today.
